This occasion was called Player Protect Player Programme. 14 of the Asiad gold winning team members and coach presented each Rs.10,000 and gave it to financially ailing 1978 World Cup player Gopal Bengra. Tenth anniversary of publication of hockey year book was celebrated in a novel way. As the same coincided with the 70th Anniversary of India winning the gold at the Berlin Olympics in 1936, both were highlighted in a specific function, in which a person who witnessed the Berlin hockey event was present.

Book releasing function moved to another part of the sprawling country. The Hockey Year Book 2007 was released at Bangalore. Amidst a galaxy of former and present Olympians, ‘Arjuna’ awardee MP Ganesh, the chief guest of the evening, also released the book. Namdhari Hockey Team was declared ‘Team of the Year 2006’ by the Hockey Year Book. The owner of the team Thakur Uday Singh is presented a copy of the Year Book 2007 in which his team’s feats are explained, during a function organized by Sardar Gian Singh Memorial Hockey Society.
