Sandeep Singh struck HIL's first hattrick in Magicians' sixth game. He struck a brace in the first MM's win, he accounts for 11 out of 19 goals even as 4 more matches to go in the HIL.

He has been a scoring machine. Sandeep struck 5 goals in the final, 16 over all in the Delhi Olympic Qualifier 2012. His scoring skills opened the doors of London Olympics.

Sandeep Singh is India's top hockey star. Younger brother of Bikramjit Singh (2001 Junior World Cup gold medalist), Sandeep Singh hails from Shahbad in Haryana.

He shot in to the limelight when he top-scored at the 2004 Junior World Cup, which India won for the first time. And that was in Karachi, Pakistan. He made his senior debut at the 2004 Sultan Azlan Shahs Cup, and was taken for the Athens Olympics from there. Since then he has been in the team, and when not there it became a national news.

He returned to national side under coach AK Bansal in the 2008 Azlan Shah Cup. He scored 9 goals there to emerge as the top scorer. India reached the finals there after 12 years gap and won the Silver.

When India met Pakistan at Ipoh (2008 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup), it was Sandeep Sing's 75th international match. He made it memorable by scoring the first goal, and thus setting the stage right for fellowman Diwakarram to post another goal to dumpbound Pakistan.

India's greatest stars, be it Surjit Singh or Md. Shahid, they all became so because of thier sterling show against Pakistan. Keeping up the tradition, Sandeep also excelled that day. Interestingly, Sandeep scored many goals over Pakistan in the junior engagements also.

Sandeep Singh was made the senior team captain in the early 2009.

He led India in the Argentina Test Series, New Zealand Test Series and then Punjab Gold Cup.

He scored six goals in
