The Fourth Premier Hockey League wills be held at Chandigarh in the second week of December. Despite Bombay Hockey Association’s hectic efforts to include veteran star Dhanraj Pillay in its line up, the superstar won’t see light at the end of the dark tunnel. A new stipulation has been specifically put in the statue books so that the veteran is permanently kept out of the PHL spectrum.

As per the new rule, any player above the age of 34 will not be permitted to play in the PHL. This rule was introduced, not when the PHL was held for the first time in 2005, but a couple of days ago when the coaches and managers of the teams assembled in Delhi to deliberate the composition of the teams.

In a shocking development, it is also learnt that successful coach AK Bansal will not be Orissa Steelers’ coach, but his one time assistant Panthania is.

This we will deal separately.
