Action packed WSH schedule released

Inaugural season of world class league will be from 29th February to 2nd April

Mumbai, 23rd January: World Series Hockey is all set to begin from the 29th of February and delight the hockey fans with 34 days of live entertainment and hard hitting hockey.

59 matches will be played in the inaugural edition, with 56 matches being played in the league stage, 2 semi finals and 1 final.

The season will kick off with a grand opening ceremony in Chandigarh followed by the first match of the tournament between the Chandigarh Comets and the Bhopal Badshahs.

All the matches will be played during prime time to ensure maximum excitement and engagement in stadia and on live television. There will consistently be two matches a day at 7 pm and 9 pm.

The top four teams from the league stage will qualify for the semi-finals which will be held on 1st April at 6 pm IST and 830 PM IST. To reward consistent performance in the league stage, the top two seeds after the league stage will enjoy the advantage of hosting their respective semi final.

The grand final will be held on 2nd April at 830 pm, and the finalist with a higher seed from the league stage will host this game.

4 rest days are scheduled in the tournament, to allow for players to recharge their batteries.

This ensures that the standard of hockey in WSH is top-notch at all times and will be an absolute treat for fans.”

Floodlit matches in the evenings will provide the passionate hockey fans with an electrifying environment. With all the matches played at prime time, fans will be able to enjoy world class hockey after they’re back home. This is the first time the passionate Indian fans will have access to world class hockey for 34 days of non-stop prime time action.”
