Till recently the senior vice-president of the Indian Hockey Federation, Narinder Batra, accuses both the outgoing union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Mani Shankar Aiyar and the Indian Olympic Association Secretary General Randhir Singh of misinforming the nation.

In a lengthy email sent to the new sports minister, MS Gill and the IOA Secretary, Randhir Singh, Narinder Batra – who resigned from the IHF Vice president post in the wake of Chile chiller — contends that the Indian Hockey Federation is not a recognized body once the Indian Hockey Confederation came into being and as such the Sports Ministry and the IOA are dealing with an unrecognized body. Since the Ministry and the IOA are dealing more than one body, will they recognize if I make Batra Hockey Association tomorrow, he asks.

Narrating the reasons that led to the FIH recognizing the Indian Hockey Confederation, Batra questions the Ministry and the IOA whether are they aware of these facts. If the FIH recognizes only the IHC, on what merits and legalities that the Ministry and the IOA deal with the IHF?, he questions. In a dig, Batra further wants to know how many National Sports Federations per game can the Ministry and IOA recognize.

Batra also highlights in the email that since Ministry & IOA both have to send representatives in elections of NSFs, can the Minister and Randhir Singh confirm if they have knowledge of any election having taken place in the IHC since 2001 when the when IHC came into being

Batra, in all, places eleven questions in the loosely written email and demands clarification from the both authorities. “If the Ministry and and the IOA do not clarify within 7 days of this email, then I reserve my right to avail all recourses available to me as a Citizen of India to make the public aware of the same, and get the facts before the nation. If am not clarified within seven days, I will also assume that my facts are correct and then do the needful” Batra thunders.
