Blame not fatigue: Brent

CHENNAI: As if playing back-to-back isn’t enough Chennai Cheetahs had to be content with the gruelling fixture of playing in cities separated by 2000-odd kilometres in less than 24 hours. Hence, the Cheetahs, despite their home advantage, were jaded and listless and caved in 2-4 to Mumbai Marines.

After their 9 pm match against Delhi Wizards on Monday, they reached Chennai in the morning. Whereas Delhi was much cooler with the prolonged winter just setting in Chennai was understandably hot and humid. Subsequently, the Cheetahs lost their octane soon after Marines scored the equaliser. Skipper Brent Livermore, though, was slightly more positive about it. “Without a doubt, it’s tough but that’s the way it is and we have to cope up with it as early as possible. That’s a challenge we are looking forward to. Every team goes through this at one point of their campaign and teams have won from such situations. Hopefully, we will do a lot better next time in such a situation,” he said.
