Mumbai, Tuesday, November 17, 2009: Central Railway Mumbai Division clinched a thriller over Greater Mumbai Police in the Senior Division League match played at the MHA Mahindra Stadium today. In an exciting tussle both equally balanced sides battled fiercely but C.Rly.M.Div. edged G.M.Police by 3-2 narrow margin, at lemon break both sides were at level score’s of 1-1.

C.Rly.M.Div found the initial lead in the very 6th minutes of the play time through a stroke conversion by Amrik Singh, the stroke was awarded due to stick check on CRMD striker at the spot inside the circle by G.M.Police defender ( 1-0) Thereafter G.M.Police stunned by the reverse regrouped and launched their vigorous raids on CRMD citadel but their strikers up front were brilliantly kept at bay by CRMD defence and keeper Avdhut Solankar further the policemen missed out close chances, while CRMD reason best known to them went into defensive mode for which had to pay the price G.M.Police found the equalizer in the 26th minutes Datta Shinde superbly deflected in the box a direct pass from the axis by Santosh Musale putting the CRMD keeper on the wrong foot ( 1-1) After the resumption the battle for supremacy continued, however CRMD came out of the slumber Harminder Singh converted a indirect penalty corner I the 56th minutes to go up ( 2-1) 13th minutes later once again Harminder Singh his end and his side’s 3rd goal was on target shooting in from close range ( 3-1) The desperate G.M.Police pulled a goal back in the 70th minutes i.e final whistle Datta Shinde dived to sweep in from the left a desperate attempt 2-3 .

Today, Tata Power will take on L&T in the 3rd division.
