S2h has access to the complete minutes of the so called Executive Committee (EC) Meeting of the disbanded but surely disgraced Indian Hockey Federation held on 16th Sept, a day before the another sham enacted by KPS Gill faction – the AGM.

We have already reported that Senior Vice President of the disbanded IHF Chander Shekhar — who was forced to attend the Gill’s illegal AGM — went hammer and tongs against Jothikumaran in the EC meeting.

Even the EC minutes faithfully records the honest officer’s views on the ‘sting-tainted’ and the longest served IHF Secretary.

Chander Sekhar first quoted that during the last 4, 5 years there was hardly any IHF meeting. He attributed whatever criticism highlighted in the media in the past six months, to collective failure of the IHF and called for immediate change of guards.

He was in fact demanding both Gill and Jothi’s head. In particular, he vociferously demanded immediate sacking of Sh. K. Jothikumaran.

These are as much as the recorded minutes go. In fact, another person who attended the meeting confided how Chander Sekhar wondered the presence of Jothi in the meeting and wanted him go. “You brought all the shame to hockey”, he was quoted as telling him right on Jothi’s face.

Chander Sekhar also queried whether Gill intends to contest the elections. Gill first seemed to have dodged the question, telling ‘if we are here to discuss elections’. However on Chander Sekhar’s persistence, he retorted: “Until few minutes before I was not prepared but now I have made up my mind to contest”.

This recorded version of Gill should at rest those who claim Gill is not interested in the IHF chair, but only wanted to go with dignity. On this ground, exactly, one Gurbux Singh, Secretary of the Bengal Hockey Association, wanted to attend the AGM ‘to pave way for honourbale exit’ of IHF, before he was curtly told not to go. Former Olympians penchant for Gill is another matter. Other Olympian in the meeting SS Sodhi never opened his mouth at all. However, Let us now concentrate on Chander Shekar’s feats in the EC.

KPS Gill backed Jothikumaran fully. Even he went on to say that he has ‘not even sacked a constable without enquiry”. Gill ‘asserted that Jotikumaran is not his appointee but was appointed through certain procedure laid down in the IHF constitution and he can be removed through that procedure only’.

Probably, Gill thinks people have less memory. The fact of the matter is that Jothi was nominated by Gill, like all other officer bearers of IHF, and unlike in the past Secretary posts were not contested. The indirect message however is, like everyone else, he also wants not to associate with him! So much is the image of Jothi nowadays.

Then why Gill has accepted Jothi’s reported resignation and put one Charanjit Singh in his place is a mystery.

Swider Singh Saini – how he attended the meeting despite being not the EC member is not known – supported Chander Shekar in his effort to nail Jothi.

On his part, KPS Gill exhorted Chander Shekhar and Saini could have come forward to save hockey and asked them whether they are for hockey or against Jothikumaran.

Gill, while defending Jothi also said he has been spending for court case and meetings out of his own pocket to save the identify of the Indian Hockey Federation.

So, please understand this old man is spending from his pocket to save IHF, while the whole word believes hockey will be better off if he is out of it.
