SGGS judokas emerge as champs

CHANDIGARH,

SGGS College, Sector 26 claimed the Panjab University Inter College Judo Championship for men with 31 points being organised at Panjab University Campus on Wednesday. DAV College, Sector 10 grabbed the second spot with 17 points while KLSD College, Ludhiana claimed the third spot with 13 points.

Amardeer Yadav of SGGS College, Sector 26 claimed the gold medal in the 66 Kg category while Somvir of DAv College, Chandigarh grabbed the silver medal. Manish Gautam of Panjab University Campus and Pawan Kumar of DAV College claimed the bronze medal. In the 73 Kg category, Amardeep Singh of SGGS College, Chandigarh grabbed the top spot while Modh Imran of SGGS Khalsa College, Mahilpur claimed the silver medal.

Varinder Singh of Panjab University Campus and Gurinder Singh of DAV College, Chandigarh claimed the third spot. Rajnish Sharma of SGGS College, Chandigarh emerged as the winner in the 81 Kg category while Amritpal Singh of Government College, Hoshiarpur grabbed the silver medal. Neera Sharma of SGGS Khalsa College, Mahilpur and Vinod Kumar of DAV College, Chandigarh claimed the third spot.

In hockey, GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar drubbed LLR Government College, Dhudike by 3-0 while in another match of the day, SCD Government College, Ludhiana defeated Guru Nanak National College, Doraha by 4-1.

In volleyball, MGKM Shahi Sports College, Sam rala scored a 2-0 win over Govind National College, Narangwal.
