TNOA stops all TNHA activities
Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Olympic Association (TNOA) has directed the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu to stop the two factions of Tamil Nadu Hockey Association from running any activities in the state until the Indian Olympic Association takes a final decision on the matter.
TNOA secretary K Murugan told TOI that the association took the decision as there was a dispute regarding the state body with both factions claiming majority and either party wanting to organise tournaments. However, TNOA left the matter to IOA to avoid complications.
The feeling in hockey circle is that the TNOA order is to restrain Jothikumaran from going ahead with his plans. Jothi, who is heading one of the factions of TNHA, has called for an executive meeting at the Egmore Stadium on October 19.
