India and Australia have met right from second Champions Trophy.

Initially, both played tense, tight games, often ending in draw or narrow loss for India. Then it meandered to one sided affair for the Kangaroos countrymen.

In the last Champions Trophy in Bhubneswar, both were on different pool, met for bronze. Early lead by the visitor was neutralized in the 42nd minute by Lalit Upadhyay. But Matt Ghodes’ field goal eight minutes before the hooter handed them the medal.
