This is another first from Dilip Tirkey. The ace defender will be honoured with honorary Doctorate today by the Samphalpur University in Orissa.
The honour comes for Dilip Tirkey at such a time the Indian Hockey Federation has embarassed him with the announcement of him given the responsibility of being national selector! It is gathered that he has not given nor sought his consent.
Dilip Tirkey started playing international hockey since 1995 and has won every single honour that was up for the grab.
