No place for Sandeep, Sardara Singh in hockey, insists chief coach

Sandeep Singh and Sardara Singh’s sudden exit from the men’s hockey camp has obviously not gone down well with chief coach Michael Nobbs and coach SS Grewal. And it will come as no surprise that they will probably never be taken back into the team again.
“They have no place in the team in the foreseeable future. The younger kids are the future and the quicker we develop them, the quicker the team moves ahead,” said Nobbs.
“They signed a form saying they would not do this. I am disappointed with the thing they have done. We will focus on youth. No matter what the result in China, we will promote the youngsters. I would say it is almost impossible to take them back now. I could never trust what they say in the future. They said they would not do this and they have,” the Australian added.
Grewal said: “Discipline is paramount and the Indian team is no place for indisciplined players. We wouldn’t want them back in the team.”
