Editor’s Note: We have been receiving a lot of communication from our site users urging us to do Live Text Commentary of World Series Hockey matches.
It would have been wonderful if we could oblige. We know our visitors, especially those outside India, don’t get to see WSH matches live as Neo Sports Channel may not be available to them. Nor is there any official web streaming.
We in stick2hockey.com face some problems.
Starting from October last year, we have been active, spent huge resources, to cover Indian tour of Australia, Sultan of Johor Cup, South Africa and Azerbaijan Series, which all peaked with Delhi Olympic Qualifier.
We had partial financial support thro’ traditional supporters, and we had great hospitality of fans in Australia and Malaysia, it all helped to undercut costs.
The World Series Hockey is a big stage. Matches are held in different centres; one match, for instance in Jalandhar and the next in Bangalore. We need to have our personnel trained in doing Live in each venue.
There is no point in doing a substandard job for the heck of it.
We can have access to established hands in all these centers but the problem is resources.
With so many franchises on board, each have sub-sponsors, there is scope for marketing.
We could not take up marketing as we are tied up with one assignment or another since last six months as mentioned in the beginning.
Therefore, I am constrained to inform we may not beam WSH Live Text Commentary.
However, we will definitely do the finals and a couple of crucial matches before that in the last phase.
