F. United thrash Gr. Mumbai Police in Sr. Division

Thursday, December 03, 2009: F United Sports Club outplayed Gr.Mumbai Police by a handsome margin of 5-1 after being ahead by 2-1 during lemon break in the MHA Senior Division League played at the MHA Mahindra Stadium, Churchgate.

Young and up coming striker Vijay Thapa fired a superb brace for F United S/C. However it was G.M.Police who shot up to lead initially Nilesh Ghorpade cashed the defensive lapse by F United defender Harjit Singh to shoot in from close range in the 18th minutes ( 1-0 ) but it was F United S/C who missed at least dozen chances coming in their way formerly whatsoever F United S/C found the equalizer three minutes later Vijay Thapa fored in from close range a superb diagonal corss by Nitin Kumar ( 1-1) and he again cored the goal in the 33rd minutes ( 2-1)

After resumption F United further accelerated their lead Gavin Aguair sounded the board with a crisp hit from the ā€˜Dā€™ top giving no chance to G.M.Police keeper Balkrishna Kadam (3-1). Thereafter the youthful F United S/C boys pushed back their much seasoned rivals G.M.Police. Harjit Singh added the 4th goal in the 57th minutes by converting a direct penalty corner and the last goal was scored by Vijay Thapa by a deflection in the 68th minutes.

Tomorrow, Union Bank will take on Central Railways (Mumbai Division) in the senior division.
