A doughty defender who sometimes forays into the midfield, Adam Dixon will lead Great Britain’s challenge to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Dixon, a veteran of 284 international appearances, made his debut in 2009 and has taken part in an Olympic (2016) and three World Cup (2010, 2014 and 2018) campaigns.

Dixon knows what it is to stride the top podium, having been a part of the 2009 EuroHockey championship gold medal-winning England team in Amstelveen, The Netherands.

He plays for Beeston at home and has had a stint with HC Rotterdam in the Dutch premier league.

The Thirty-four-year-old is almost surely playing his last Olympics and dreams of winning a medal which, if he does, would be fully merited for the hard yards and long years of service for British hockey.
