His maternal grandfather is from Uganda. His paternal grandfather is from Kenya. He now lives in Canada. His parents migrated to Canada from Goa.

May be great lineage with India, but the Canadian player hardly visited India.

“I came when I was child and it is only second time I am in India”, he says.

Norohna of course belongs to a hockey family. Almost everyone in his relative circle relate to hockey.

“My 17 cousins play hockey in various clubs in Canada”, he tells you with pride.

Son of Aircraft Mechanic, Devohn studies Exercise science in Sherdon College. The Toronto born star made his name in international hockey both at indoor and outdoor varieties.

Devhon, 26, made into Canadian age group national team at 19, four years after making a name for himself in indoor game.

The forward feels pretty well on seeing hockey played so popularly in India.

There was a time when half of the Canadian national team used to be of Indian origin, now hardly three.

But he sees no decline, as ‘lot of Indians play hockey there’.

“Lot of player coming up nowadays”, feels optimistically the Mississauga born ethnic Goan Indian.

The 26-year old is excited Canada has qualified for the Olympics and is looking forward to the big moment.

His future plan is taking sporting career as it comes.

“I cant reply how many years left in me, but will take it as it comes’, Deohn says with ease.
