The 21st National Sub-Junior Women’s Hockey Championship began in Rourkela on Sunday with hosts Orissa beating Mizoram 5-0 and Delhi overcoming Kerala 4-0. Other matches saw goals by the dozen as Chhattisgarh trounced Gujarat 16-0, Madhya Pradesh wallopped Rajasthan 13-0 and Uttar Pradesh whipped Vidarbha 10-0. Chhattisgarh’s Puja Singh (5), Hira Sinha (4) and Orissa’s Anupama Bara (4) scored hattricks. A total of 25 teams are taking part in the tournament.
