A vicious circle who have already appropriated the Olympic sports in India is in the habit of throwing new eggs from their basket. The only purpose in those surprises is to appropriate hockey with one more election for oneself or for their cronies.
In the unending saga of affiliation — its ironical that 4,5 people whose State have hardly produced a single player in Independent India is deciding the fate of traditonal hockey provenances — we have a new genre now.
Close on the heels of Tamil Nadu State getting the affiliation of a committee consisting of three, Delhi also seems to follow the new trend.
Sources claim that the Delhi Olympic Association president Raj Chopra, Amrit Bose, Charanjit Singh, Dr. Mrs Sudarshan Pathak and behold, KPS Gill, are in the five-member adhoc committee for Delhi. As only expected, the State Olympic Association boss is chairman of this commitee.
So what next?
Chopra can recommend affiliation for himself! Hopefully, he will be successful too
Sources claim this committee will get the nod for affiliation with voting right for the January 29 election.
Unfortunately, the Bhupinder Singh group which infact claims the support of majority Clubs in the Delhi District Hockey Association, is left in lurch
We have seen in many places those who have actually enjoy the support of existing electoral college are made fool of such armtwisting and mutational, ugly innovations (don’t they deserve a nobel?) and therefore one more in our beloved rajdhani.
One is not amused on the Adhoc Commitee technique. After all the present masters who decide the course of Indian hockey came into hockey with the same route.
Amazing evolutionary growth that might put Darwin into shame.
