Hindustan Times: Diljit Dosanjh to play ex-Indian hockey captain Sandeep Singh in Shaad Ali’s next
Taapsee Pannu and Diljit Dosanjh are likely to play hockey players in Shaad Ali’s next on Sandeep Singh.
Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh, who won hearts and awards with his Bollywood debut Udta Punjab, will soon be seen in a film on a hockey player. The yet-to-be-titled film will star Taapsee Pannu opposite Diljit and is being directed by Shaad Ali. Contrary to earlier reports, the film is not a biopic on Sandeep Singh – the former captain of Indian hockey team – and focuses on his love life.
The film will be a love story that revolves around Taapsee and Diljit, and both would be essaying roles of hockey players. While exact details aren’t yet known, the actors are likely to undergo extensive training for hockey by professionals.
The shooting for the film is likely to begin in Punjab this October.
Diljit was last seen in Anushka Sharma’s Phillauri and Taapsee was last seen in Naam Shabana.
