Former IHF President IM Mahajan passes away
Former President of Indian Hockey Federation, IM Mahajan has passed away following a brief illness. Mahajan, 86, who had also served as the President of the Delhi and District Hockey Association (DDHA) and Hockey Delhi, breathed his last on Saturday. The veteran sports administrator has served the
game for more than six decades. He was also the Manager of the Indian team on several occasions, including the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games, a DDHA release said on Sunday.
Mahajan had played for the undivided Punjab and later on for Delhi state and the Delhi Police. He became the President of DDHA in 1961-62, it added.
IHF President KPS Gill was among the officials and players who attended the cremation ceremony.
