Hockey India gives into reason, bogey election off
The Hockey India’s proposed election in Srinagar on 18th of this month have run into rough weather, with JB Roy group and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports taking a tough stand.
A delegation led by JB Roy, met IOA President Suresh Kalmadi today at the Commonweath Games office in Delhi. Others in the delegation included Krishnamurthy, Pargat Singh, Gurbux Singh, Nizamuddin, Rajapgopal, Gavai, Amrit Bose, Kukoo Walia and others.
Hockey India, a constitutional fraud enacted by a handful of vicious elements, wanted to perpetuate their fraud by conducting an ‘election’ at Srinagar where, it is rumoured, NK Batra was supposed to be elected as ‘Secretary’. Batra heads the JK hockey unit.
Having given recognition only to its choices — as they don’t have any majority from day one — Hockey India was all geared upto commit another fraud at Srinagar.
We learnt that leading Associations like Bengal, Karnataka, Punjab, despite merged into one following all time-honoured norms, have not been given recognition thus making mockery of whole things.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has taken a serious stand and made it clear to Suresh Kalmadi, who is clearly behind the whole unconstitutional drama, that it won’t take elections without proper electoral colleges listed.
Meanwhile, the ‘self-appointed Secretary’ of Hockey India Md. Aslam Khan has been forced to tender resignation from his post.
The delegation also met Antonio Ondarzo, the FIH nominated representative to oversee the Hockey India election.
The delegation is satisfied with the meeting of both Kalmadi and Antonio.
According to sources, a committee consisting of both the factions will be formed which will decide on the election and affiliation issues.
Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs had taken a stand and instructed IOA to sort out the affiliation issues in a transparent manner.
