The Indian Hockey Federation has outrightly rejected the merger proposal of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
stick2hockey.com earlier reported a strong IHF rejection
(http://www.stick2hockey.com/Article/Twists%20in%20the%20HI%20and%20IHF%20merger-/8120.html) which now proved correct.
The IHF’s Advisor Gill has over-ruled reported ‘in principle’ merger quoted by its president RK Shetty in some section of the media.
As it is a well known fact that RK Shetty is a dummy president while Gill, despite being designated as Advisor, is the man who pull the strings in the IHF faction, which way the wind blows is now clear.
As a strong refusal to accept the ministry’s somewhat dubious merger (it is undoubtedly loaded in favour of Hockey India) coming from the horses mouth itself, in a press conference in Delhi, there is no doubt now the fight for the hockey chair will go for some more time.
Gill in his inimitable style wants hockey India to merge with it and wants all decisions taken after IHF was dissolved after 2008, should be declared null and void.
