Imphal: HU, KhSU in veteran hockey final

IMPHAL, Aug 16: Hockey Union, Lairikyengbam Leikai and Khongman Students’ Club will vie for the crown of the 2nd State Level Veteran Hockey Tournament on August 17 at 2.30 pm. In the semi final matches played today at Khuman lampak Hockey Stadium, HU edged out YCCIC, Ahallup 4-3 with Ng Munindro (5th), n Chandikumar (9th), W Nabakumar (21st/PC) and Ng Motilal (55th/PS) netting the HU goals as the Khongman veterans rallied from two goal down to oust YAC, Yaiskul 4-2. Y Rajen netted two of the Khongman goals (32nd/PC, 57th) with M Shantikumar (39th/PC) and Ksh Rajen (49th) chipping in one apiece.
