Breaking News: ‘India Hockey’ to manage Indian hockey.
Here is the breaking news, which is a music to ears. Hockey India and Indian Hockey Federation have arrived at a compromise.
Now, a new body, called India Hockey will govern the sport.
President and treasurer of Indian Hockey Federation will hold the same post in India Hockey while Secretary General of Hockey India will continue to hold the same in the new set up.
Under a strict deadline, other members will be co-opted.
The process will be completed at state level also before another election takes place.
It could not be conclusively said that with the formation of ‘India Hockey’ whether the two entities, HI and IHF, will be dissolved or IH will remain as an umbrella body.
The breakthrough has been achieved after protracted discussion between many groups with the mediation of FIH president, who was in the capital early in the week.
Official announcement is expected anytime from now.
We earlier reported formation of a committee. This is expected to be the monitoring mechanism put in place by the parties concerned.
