It seems Yuvraj Walmiki waited for a good day to enter the scoreboard, and it was his birthday today that he chose to do it.

He connected a midfield pass in time to give India the first goal, the first for him in the tour as well.

Seconds before the close, he set up Tushar to score the team’s seventh goal.

On his birthday, Yuvi was noticed with noticeable work upfront

Manjit Kullu sent in a diagonal push from the midfield, Yuvraj deflected the ball with stick in his left hand, to send the ball in in the 19th minute to break the goal logjam.

Poland got two penalty corner in succession in the 21st minute, the first one kicked off by Bharat Chetri, the second one was again saved by him and for that he had to dive to his left.

Three minutes later, Danish Mujtaba trapped a loose ball on the left flank, and effected a reverse shot that entered the net, even as Shivender was trying to connect and deflect. The angle and power of Danish was such that Shivender need not do anything ans India went up 2-0.

Shivendra Singh, standing near the goal, did Walmiki to take the wind out of otherwise troubling Polish. The third goal, coming three minutes before the lemon time, broke whatever spirit the rival had before te team dispersed for break.

Sunil dodged three defenders one by one and still found time to send in a powerful shot from the periphery of the circle for the fourth goal (4-00 within five minutes when the match resumed.

Brendra Lakra and Tushar came out with a goal apiece as the Indians tore the Polish defence into smithereens.

Tushar’s reverse shot (6-0) from circle top hit the goalie’s kicker and delected into the goal.
Three minutes before the hooter, Poland’s Mikhula came close to scoring, but his close range shot went wide.

In the follow up, India launched a counter attack, and got a penalty corner, its irst a minute let in the clock, but the first charger put the stick to delect out of danger. That was momentary relief, as Yuvraj set up Tushar (7-0) to score his second goal just seconds remained for full time.

India will now play quarterfinal on Thursday against the last placed team of the other pool
