Indian Coach Michael Nobbs is overwhelmed by the grand gesture of his team’s captain Bharat Chetri. The captain on his own preferred his colleague in the cage, PR Sreejesh to play the full match against Australia yesterday. Coach Michael Nobbs has been playing each of the two goalies at his disposal in each half of the ongoing Lanco International Super Series Hockey 9s.

“Chetri told me that Sreejesh should continue in the second half also even I was ready to field him for the match against Australia”, said happy Nobbs.

“He is captain, he kept the team’s interest in his mind when he said this. He felt since Sreejesh was playing very good, better to continue him in the next half also, which I did”, Nobbs added.

On asked about this, Chetri, a simpleton to the core, confirmed this. He said, “Yes. Sreejesh was playing well in the first half, doing a great job, I thought its better for the team to continue him, and he really played well in the next half also”, he said.

Otherwise too the senior has been winning hearts of the team with his unassuming character and affable mannerism.
