Indian Express: Delhi govt sets up two probe panels

The first committee was set up following a motion moved by AAP MLA Som Dutt.

The Delhi Assembly Monday set up two special committees to probe the alleged irregularities and corruption in bodies administering the games of cricket and hockey in Delhi and the other to probe the 2002 CNG-fitness scam.

The first committee was set up following a motion moved by AAP MLA Som Dutt. AAP MLAs said the committee was necessary, as a three-member panel appointed by the government had pointed out several wrongdoings in the Delhi and District Cricket Association that was headed by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. The nine-member panel that will probe the issue comprises AAP MLAs.

“The panel will look into working, management and administration (including alleged financial irregularities) of the bodies that are entrusted with administering and managing affairs of cricket and hockey in Delhi,” stated the resolution passed by the assembly.

It also passed a resolution to set up a nine-member special panel to probe the CNG fitness scam.
