Indian girls hockey team is now at Bostan in USA to play in the Junior World Cup. Thanks to good planning from the Indian side, the team reached the destination well on time and is having enough feeling of the turf.

The team left India on the night of 26th, a clear 10 days ahead of the scheduled start of the event.

Though still battling out the jet lag of long journey and deadly time difference of about 10 hours, the team could rope in two strong teams the to play practice matches.

Indian girls led by TH Ranjita of Manipur won the first practice match 2-0 againstChile. Second match did not go that easily as India went down to strong Argentina 0-4. The team is still settling down.

Indian team is coached by well-known MK Kaushik. The Junior World Cup is second outing for the girls under the banner of newly formed Hockey India after the Kazan Challenge Cup, which India won recently.

Incidentally, Kaushik was the coach of the previous Junior World Cup as well.
