Canara Bank buries itself with wayward shooting as did Railway Coach Factory Kapurthala in the Senior Nehru Cup 2012 on Day Two today here in New Delhi.

Both Indian Navy and Punjab and Sind Bank, despite the run of the mill stuff they churned out whole of the match, came out winners with identical 3-1.

Canara Bank played heart out in the second match of the day on the picturesque Shivaji Stadium, but turned out a pathetic picture as their forwards failed to convert most of the chances they painstakingly created.

On the other hand, faster but rusty Indian Navy, entered the circle on counter attacks, almost at will, and almost on each occasion threatened with good finish in the circle. They struck twice in the second half to add to Pawan Kumar’s first half goal.

The lone goal of the losing team was struck by Deepak to bring a fighting score at 2-1, but the forehand shot of Liaba Singh in the 60th minute took the contest away from the bankmen, trained by former international Pandurangan Shanmugasundaram.

It was a reverse situation in the first match of the day when the losing RCF pounded the PSB citadel first, but then the bankman came ferociously to put on three more goals to keep up the status of being best domestic bank team in India.

Bikramjit Singh, Daleep Singh and Ramandeep Singh scored in the second half.
