STAR-STUDDED Crescent Hockey Club, Sialkot, Pakistan, edged out Namdhari XI 4-3 in a league match of the Servo Silver Jubilee Surjit Hockey Tournament in Jalandhar on Wednesday. In pool D league encounter, Sialkot team surged ahead in the third minute of the game when Adeel Akram made no mistake in converting the first penalty corner. After trailing by a goal, Namdhari XI mounted pressure on Pakistan team and got the equaliser in the 13 th minute through penalty corner and the scorer was international Gurwinder Singh. Six minutes later, Gurmail Singh put Namdhari in lead 2-1.
In the first half, the Sialkot team’s international goalkeeper Farhan Asif made brilliant saves to keep Namdhari forwards at bay. At half time Namdhari XI were leading 2-1.
After changing sides, visitors started their attacks from right flank and earned a penalty corner, which converted by Amir Saleem to level the scores. Sialkot took the lead in the 40th minute of the game through Amir Saleem, who converted a penalty corner. Namdhari XI pulled back an equliser in the 50th minute when Gurwinder Singh scored a file field goal. In the 65th minute of the game Crescent Hockey Club again got lead through Mohd. Atif.
