The hosts Jamia Milia Islamia will taken on Kurukshetra University in the final of the North Zone Inter-University tomorrow (Tuesday)
In the Semi-Final League Match played today, Jamia Millia Islamia defeated Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar with a score of 1-0. Satinder Dalal scored the all imporant goal which earned his team a spot in the final.
In the other Semi-Final League Match, Kuruksehtra University, Kurukshetra defeated Punjab University, Chandigarh 5-4. Malok Singh, Ajay Sharma, Dhayan Singh scored a goal apiece while Jitender scored a brace of goals for the winning team.
The Final League Matches of North Zone Inter-Varsity Hockey (Men) Tournament 2010-11 will be played on January 4, 2011 at 12 Noon and 2 PM in the Hockey Ground of Faculty of Education, Jamia Millia Islamia.
A Prize Distribution Ceremony will also be held after the matches are over in the Hockey Ground of Faculty of Education to felicitate the winners.
Zafar Iqbal, former Hockey Olympian and Arjuna Awardee, will be the Chief Guest. Prof. S.M. Rashid, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia will preside over the ceremony.
