On the eve of India and Pakistan set to play another of high voltage of match tomorrow in the Azlan Shah Cup, Pakistan Manager Olympian Kwaja Junaid said that his new young team would try to play to a plan rather than dictated by the nerves.

When India and Pakistan plays the plan we do before the match holds good only for 10 minutes or so. After that nerves takes control of everything. I will endeavour tomorrow that does not happen, instead my boys play according to plan and they stick to it throughout the play time”, the double Olympian said.

On asked whether he saw India-Pak match of the recent World Cup, he responded quickly, we will see those mistakes don’t repeat here.” He of course not interested to elaborate the ‘mistakes’.

He said, India is an experienced side, we have today played seven new players against Malaysia. We focus on major tournaments that are lined up for the year, including Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.

Outlining the strategy for the match, he simply said that his team will try to commit less mistakes especially in the defence.

“Today against Malaysia our defence bulked, and conceded two quick goals. I compliment my boys who did not lose heart, went on to stage a great comeback. Its not easy to come from 1-3 against a home team as we did today”, he added.

Pakistan did not score any goal from the Penalty Corners today, but it did not unduly disturb the manager. One shot hit the post and spurned off. We got only three of them. “We are improving, he said.

My team did not play individual game. They played like a well-oiled machine. If they can continue the same tomorrow, we will definitely have a good match”, he signed off.
