Kolkata High Court, hearing a case filed by the former IHF’s sporting agent, LSM, will have next hearing on Thursday.

It was widely reported last week that the Kolkata High Court directed the IOA’s hockey Adhoc Committee to submit its (IOA) constitution so that the power and legality of dissolution of the IHF headed by KPS Gill, will be looked into.

It is learnt that the adhoc committee, which is facing a defamation filed by the LSM on the question of Indian juniors and seniors allegedly not using their client Sahara’s jersey during practice sessions, has submitted the copy of the constitution.

On receiving it the hon’ble court has fixed the hearing for the Thursday.

The original case was filed by the LSM against Adhoc committee pleading a direction from the court that the national team should wear Sahara’s jersey as they continued to the be team’s sponsors.

The same LSM later added defamation to it, quoting the adhoc committee has not honoured the court’s direction in this regard.

The adhoc committee members AK Matoo, Rajeev Mehta, Md. Aslam and the IOA Secretary General Randhir Singh were present before the court last week, where lawyers from the KPS Gill’s side wished to be part of the case.

The argument from the KPS Gill’s side is that the adhoc committee has no rights to receive the sponsorship monies as the dissolution is being disputed, the court is yet to adjudicate the matter. Their view is either they should receive the money or the courts pending adjudication of their case (in Delhi High Court).

It is further learnt that the Kolkata High Court in its next hearing on Thursday may decide whether to make dissolved IHF a party to the case or not.
