Leading teams live upto reputations at Doha

Top ranked teams in the field, India, Pakistan and Malaysia, rose to the occasion in ensuring comfortable victories in the opening day of the second Annual Champions Trophy in Doha.

Firstly, Malaysia took comprehensive 4-0 lead before conceding a late goal to Japan while India, who played the second match of Day 1, managed to strike a brace in each half to romp home a comfortable opening match. And, remained only of the three teams not to have conceded a goal.

India are the defending champions of the Asian version of the Champions Trophy.

Pakistan on the other hand trailed at 1-2 to Oman in the 30th minute, before its forwards started scoring, an act they seemed to have forgotten till then.

With goals coming in timely and regularly, last edition runners up Pakistan returned to dressing room with the highest margin victory, 5 goals, in its 8-3 conquest — and with that regaining a measure of confidence.
