Harinder shines for Ropar

GUIDED BY hat trick from Harinder Singh Ropar defeated hosts Ludhiana 4-2 in the Senior Section of the Punjab State Sadhu Singh Hamdard Memorial Hockey Tournament at the Prithipal Singh Memorial AstroTurf Stadium of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) campus here today.
Though the visitors drew first blood when Kulbir Singh converted a penalty corner into goal in the second minute of the game.
The hosts succeeded to level the score through a beautiful field goal scored by Harvinder Singh in the 13th minute.
In the 18th minute, Harinder Singh of Ropar sounded the board to once again take his team to lead but Karni Grewal of Ludhiana scored the equalizer in the 27th minute. The score was 2-2 at the end of the half time.
But the second half changed the course of things when Harinder Singh added two more goals in 34th and 37th minutes to complete his hat trick.
