STATE-LEVEL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
SOUTH Zone Police, Madurai defeated Jothi Sports Club, Palayamkottai 5-3 via tie-breaker after the teams shared two goals at the end of the regulation time in the Rajamani — Kanagamani Ammal Memorial state-level hockey tournament, conducted by the Reserve Line Sports Club here on Monday .
Devendran scored in 15th min for Police while Chinnadurai got the equaliser in the 65th minute. In the tie breaker, Devendran, Kannan, Murugan and Soundarapandian scored for Police whereas Franklin and Karthick scored for Jothi SC.
MoM: Selvin (Jothi SC) In another match Ramnad District Hockey Assosiation beat Jamal Mohammed College, Trichy via sudden death.
Rajesh scored through a penalty corner for Ramnad and Manivannan restored parity . In the tie breaker Muthukumar and Kalaiselvan were successful for the winners while Ahamed and Manikandan scored for Jamal in tie-breaker. Muthukumaran of Ramnad DHA scored in sudden death.
MoM: Muthukumaran (Ramnad) Income Tax, Chennai beat Reserve Line Sports Club, Madurai 2-1. Rajasekaran scored in 36th min whereas Mickel consolidated the lead in the 39th min for Income tax, Venkatesh reduced the margin for the losers.
