Peter Menezes, one of the defendants in the Sujlana Phulel Singh versus the Mumbai Hockey Association (MHA) case has come down heavily against the MHA for its failure to hold elections for the posts of the managing committee.

Menezes quoted in the affidavit: “I say that the elections are being prolonged with the selfish, malafide motive of the defendant No 3 (Kehar Singh) as he has been misusing the office of the defendant No 1 for his personal gains and has given a go by to the Memorandum and articles of Association of the defendant No 3.” Meanwhile, proceedings in the case were also adjourned till September 16. “Proceedings were adjourned after the defendants failed to file replies to the contempt petition that was initiated during the last hearing on August 28,” said Sujlana’s lawyer Vijendra Jabra.
