DAV-Nerul lads off to Faridabad

School team to participate in nationals

After winning the zonal championship in the Mahatma Arya Games held in Panvel, the students of DAV Public School, Nerul are all set to participate in the nationals.

The schools U-19 boys basket ball, table tennis, handball teams and athletes will be going to Faridabad to play in the national-level competition, which will commence on November 21.

The team events that will be conducted in the national championship are cricket, hockey, table tennis, badminton, football, volley ball, handball, basket ball, kho kho, kabaddi and all athletic events.

The basket ball team will be headed by Rahul Khanna, while the table tennis team will be led by Pratvik Shetty. Pratichi Mallik, who won the overall championship in athletics at the zonal-level, will lead the school athletes team in the nationals.

Milind Kamble, sports coordinator of the school, said, “We are looking forward to perform well in the nationals. It gives immense pleasure, as all the players who participated in the U-14 categories performed really well in the zonal-level events.”

The U-14 boys and girls teams of the school had also won many events in the zonal-level. However, there is no national-level competition for the U-14 categories to participate.
