He excelled as a player for a decade-and-a-half and is now one of the five selectors appointed by the ad-hoc committee running hockey in the country. But Dhanraj Pillay is always game for fresh challenges and does not rule out taking up coaching assignments in the future. And for the time being, he will also be assisting the Maharashtra State Police side in their MHA super league campaign. “They requested me to help them out with things like fitness and their game. I thought it would provide some fresh challenges, so I have taken up the assignment,” said Pillay after MS Police lost their opening match 1-3 to ONGC yesterday. He will be assisting the side till December.
