Two programmes concerning the Asia Cup winning team to be held in Mumbai in the first week of this month have been cancelled. The Bombay Hockey Association, which was supposed to organize a function for the Chennai Asia Cup team on 3rd November could not be held as its Secretary, Commander Kher Singh, is hospitalized and will take about a month before he will be discharged. The function had to await his come back. Meanwhile, it is authoritatively learnt the agency report that gave an impression that the whole Asia Cup will be given Rs. 1 lac each is wrong, and that the BHA has announced a reward of Rs.1 lac only to three of its players (Adrian D’Souza, Shivender Singh, Gurbaj Singh) and for the coach Joaquim Carvalho Rs 1.25 lac.

Meanwhile the sources in the State Bank of India informed their cash award ceremony will be held in Bangalore, where the Indian team will be training later this month, in some suitable day shortly. An agency report had erroneously stated the function will be held on 5th Nov. in Mumbai.
