Mumbai: An organised Springdale hockey academy did everything right as they handed Dhanraj Pillay Hockey Academy a 6-3 defeat to book a quarterfinal berth in the ongoing under-19 All India Inter-Academies hockey tournament at the Mahindra BHA stadium on Sunday.
Ramandeep Singh scored a hat-trick for the winners while a goals by RP Singh (2) and Dharamvir Singh sealed matters. A brace by N Singh and a Vikas Pillay effort was all that DPHA could manage.
In another clash, SAI (Lucknow) fought well to down Vivek hockey academy 4-2 to reach the round of eight. Javed, Sushil Kumar, Jay Karan and Ashish Singh scored a goal each for SAI while Niraj Yadav and Lalit Kumar struck rather late for the losers.
