With 150 international caps for Australia, 12 major tournaments, 15 awards, why won’t the Star Sports commentator be a star? “Well, I am enjoying my assignment with Star Sports and watching matches of top eight teams,” says Anna who made her debut against Korea when she was 18.She picked up hockey as a five-year-old and was coached by her father for many years. In 2012, she was named best player of Australia National League at 20.
A degree in Journalism, Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies and Certificate 3 and 4 in fitness later, she is the face of Australian sports.She also does modelling for sports products. How does she multi-task? “If you know time management, you can do a lot in life,” she says.
India is not new to Anna. “I played many international matches here. My team bagged the Gold in the Delhi Commonwealth Games in 2010,” she says.What next? “I have a dream to win a gold medal in Olympic Games. As a journalist, I am getting opportunity to meet many international hockey players which will help me in my sporting career,” she says.
