Premier Hockey League 2005 has been a tremendous success. The promotors ESPN-Star Sports and Leisure Sports managment will be organizing the second PHL in the same grandeur way they did last year.

PHL Two will be held in Chandigarh in January 2006. In 2005 changes like time outs, four quarters in a game and progressive reduction of players in extra time were introduced.


Third ;unpire and best of three finals will be the innovatins in 2006. Chennai Veerans, who finished at the bottom of Tier I in 2005, is replaced by t;he Tier II winners Chandigarh Dynamos, Similarly. Bengal Tigers, who finished at the bottom of Tier II, will be replaced by a new entrant, Rourkela Steelers. Spanish national coach Mauritz Hendriks will continue to be the Event Consultant. Foreign players will be restricted to Tier I only.
