Braving time-tested threats by the administrators, Indian hockey players refused to budge. They have been told by the Hockey India officials after a meeting, in which the 22-players took part, in Pune, that they cannot either pay the players due or give any guarantee for future course action.

Players, in a separate press conference, openly told they will go home after the 48 hours ultimatum given by the Hockey India to rethink, instead of giving up.

Hockey India expressed the view that if the players are adamant and do not come back within the stipulated time, they will go for fresh lot of players for the camp who will participate in the World Cup.

Former players of repute like Vasudevan Baskaran, Ashish Ballal and Aslam Sher Khan blasted the hockey india officials for their beaten track approach.
