Ansari’s hat-trick drives Pillay Academy to victory

SHOAIB Ansari found the net three times to help secure a victory for Rajesh Pillay Academy in the Nine a side hockey championship organised by Priyadarshini Sports Centre held at the Ammunition factory Khadki hockey ground on Wednesday.

Rajesh Pillay Academy beat City Police by four goals to nil. The winners were off to a good start after Pramod Shingade converted a penalty corner in the 12th minute. They were dominating possession and were rewarded for it when Ansari scored his first goal in the 24 th minute after receiving a good pass from Vinod Shingade. He then scored in the 33 rd and 40 th minutes and wrapped the match up for his team. Ansari had the honour of scoring the first hat trick of the tournament. In another match Railway Police Pune beat Priyadarshini Sports Centre 4-1. Rohidas Musale, Firoz Shaikh, Jitender Chande and Amar Kadam scored for the winning team. Rakshak Hockey Club beat Goodwill Hockey Club 2-1 with Yogesh Sasane and Sagar Mane scoring for the winners and Sanjay Bilose reducing the margin for the losing team.
