Dear President,

Further to my letter, dated 24th July 2009 on the subject of resigning from my post as

Secretary General, Hockey India. I would like to reiterate through this letter once

again my decision to resign, as my earlier resignation was not accepted at that time.

As I know to all our colleagues in Hockey India we have reiterated time and again to

hold elections for the formation of Hockey India Executive within six months from the

date of formation of Hockey India being 20th May 2009. The time and term of office

bearers expires on 20th November 2009.

With the recent development in FIH and in the Ministry of Sports and the delay in

finalization of the member units in States, I do not see the possibility of sticking

to the deadline of 18th Nov 2009, which is the date for holding elections.

Maintaining the principles of adhering to principles of commitment, personally I

would not like to continue as Secretary General after the due date has expired 20th

Novemebr 2009.

The other main concern being the continuous disturbance from office bearers of other

major federation in the working of Hockey India. I am sure if the tables are turned

and hockey India administrators start interfering in their federatiions or in any other

federations it will not be taken well. This only caused serious delays in the smooth

running of Hockey India and this is the cause of elections being delayed.

I would like to put on record my thanks for all your support as President in running Hockey India, and also the support of my colleagues, selectors, and coaches, The present players of senior men’s team, junior men’s team, senior women’s team and

my collegagues in the press fraternity. I would specially like to mention that with

the press, I am happy, that I reached an understanidng where we started working as a

team with trust and honesty in dealing.

I also appreciate the views of FIH and Ministry of Sports and would request the HI

team to go by their requirements and start a new process for affiliation for all state

units in a transparent and honest procedural manner where no fingers are pointed at

Hockey India and a unified, fairly elected, Hockey India is formed and new and fresh

beginning takes place for the future develoment of hockey in India.

I Would also like to put on record my thanks to the Hon Sports Minsiter for supporting

hockey and also for the financial and all relevant help for the injured goalkeeper Baljeet Singh’s treatment in the US. Also thanks to ISD, SAI and ministry officials, without who’s

help no hockey team would have participated internationlly or had exposure abroad.

I am also in the process of completing my report for the duration of my stint as

Covnenor Adhoc Commitee and as Secreatry General Hockey India for your information and

comments. We have done our best and it is mixed report card.

Wishing all the best for hockey in India

Signed by Md. Aslam
