Sameer leaves ESPN
Sameer Bajaj, a Corp. Comm. Manager with ESPN Software India Ltd, joined IBM, another concern based in Delhi. A livewire personality, Sameer was actively involved in media communication during the last three years with ESPN, especially since PHL was put in place. He and his team can proudly look back building a media interest amidst Indian sports fraternity.
Known for his helping tendency, wit and humour, Sameer used to be a person with whom one can professionally work with, with pleasure and joy.
Sameer certainly looks back his stint in ESPN with satisfaction, and being a sports freak, feels he was at right place.
Being associated with PHL since its formulation stage, Sameer has definitely developed a liking for hockey. “After knowing so many players, I came to a conclusion that it is not easy to play hockey. Though it looks easy, but playing is a strenuous job. I wish and salute those youth who took up this exacting sport as the choice of their life”.
Sameer was in charge of publicity and media co-ordination in both PHLs held so far, first at Hyderabad and then at Chandigarh. All those media men who covered those two meets would vouchsafe that Sameer was always there to extend a helping hand, be it getting a technical point cleared from right quarters or ensure your convenience when at work. Significantly, he will let you know indefinte number of incidents and anectodes that he came across while discharging his duty. When he is around, no bore at all
Sameer says his interest in hockey will continue and will be definitely there at Chandigarh PHL early next year to follow the game personally.
His exit coming close on the heels of ESPN anchor Prianka Rai, India’s first sideline reporter, is not a good news, but it was his career choice and it should be welcomed.
Stick2hockey wishes Sameer Bajaj a success in his new organization.
