Asian Hockey Federation, in its congress now going in Malaysia, has declared him as the Best Player of the Asia.
Veteran forward Rika Komazowa of Japan, who was recently in India participating in the Hockey World League has been declared Best Women Player for 2012.
Sardar Singh has been in the limelight in the last two years with his extra-ordinary game skills and its fitting he got the coveted award
He has been declared Player of the tournament of huge popular Hockey India League (rs.25 lacs), following which another title came calling in the Hockey World League. He was honoured as the Best Player of the tournament (rs.2 lac) too.
Kumar Subramaniam of Malaysia, who represented Ranchi Rhinos in the Hockey India League was last year’s winner.
Its also double delight for India, as Ritu Rani has been declared AHF Youth player for the same year.
