Satinder to officiate in Oceania Cup

Interrnational Grade II hockey umpire Satinder Sharma has been given another prestigious assignment by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Appointment Committee to officiate in the Men’s Oceania Cup in Invercargill (New Zealand) from August 24 to 30.
Satinder has already supervised in 96 international matches all over the world.

Congratulating Satinder, an official of the State Bank of India and posted at the Panjab University branch here, Chandigarh Hockey Association secretary Yash Pal Vohra said “this is another feather in the highly decorated cap of Satinder Sharma.

The SBI official is the only Indian on the Elite Panel of International Hockey Umpires. Satinder has an enviable record of supervising matches in almost all international hockey tournaments organised under the aegis of the FIH.

Satinder has supervised in Junior World Cup at Hobart 2001and Rotterdam 2005, Senior World Cup at Kuala Lumpur 2002 and Germany 2006, Champions Trophy from 2003 to 2006 Colonge, Chennai and Teressa.

Besides, Satinder also officiated at the Olympic Qualifiers at Madrid 2004, Athens Olympics 2004 and Beijing 2008 and Asian Games.
